I'm Nick Buchanan, sole proprietor and manager of Nicholas Yacht Services. I was born and raised in Sarasota and lived and worked in Cleveland, Charlotte NC and NYC but I always came back to Sarasota where the rest of my family still lives. I've been boating since birth and scuba diving since I was six years old. Boating has always been a big part of my life so I appreciate helping your family share that same positive expericence.

After high school I worked for a company that produces horse shows for the United States Equestrian Team as assistant treasurer. In 1990 I worked as a broker specializing in asset-based finance such as equipment leasing, factoring and sale-leasebacks. Around 1999 while living on my 33' Carver at Marina Jack I realized my true calling in life and made working on your boat my profession. After lots of study, tests, experiments, product purchases and experience (which are always on-going and never ending) I've developed and perfected a system using a combination of old fashioned tradition and new technology to restore and keep a boat in it's best condition above and below the waterline.

I've been blessed with two wonderful boys; Nick and Joey with whom I am well pleased. Their beautiful little faces grace this website and often you can see them out there with me, working and having fun too. Although I do have other divers that help me it is my policy to inspect each boat myself before I invoice the customer. And I'm the only one that replaces the zinc anodes and changes the props.

 

Our service area covers the west coast of Florida from Palmetto to Punta Gorda including, Port Manatee, Bradenton, Sarasota, Osprey, Venice, Englewood, and Port Charlotte.
